Councils and Committees
Volunteering on Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce councils and committees, and serving
as liaisons are a wonderful membership benefit for you and your employees, offering
unique opportunities to:
- Network;
- Establish important business contacts;
- Learn about the Copperas Cove community;
- Play a significant role in shaping the City and its business policies;
- Gain valuable experience and build relationships in planning events and creating
programs;
- Have lots of fun while strengthening the Chamber and building a better Cove.
Committees meet once a month, at a minimum, generally at the same place and time
each month. Chairpersons are responsible for selecting co-chairs and committee volunteers.
Chair- and committee-persons are responsible for reporting to the chamber president
for approval and execution of all duties pertaining to their committee on an ongoing,
regular basis. Chamber staff cannot undertake the duties of any committee or chairperson.
Each committee presents an annual budget to the chamber president on September 1.
The budget is presented to the budget committee in October for approval by the full
board in November.
All items prepared for press (to businesses, newspapers, radio, T.V.) must be approved
by the chamber president. Committee chairpersons must coordinate with city staff
for all events early in event planning stages and obtain permissions for city facilities
and/or property necessary to the event.
Volunteers are asked to keep a log of all hours volunteered and forward this log
to the chamber on a regular basis. Committee work is a serious commitment - the
willingness to volunteer and support the chamber is vital to the chamber's mission.
A very special Thank You goes out to each one of our volunteers. Chamber
executives and staff stand ready and always willing to help our volunteers find
a niche where their special talents can shine.
